The right size for every platform
Each network crops and compresses images differently, and uploading the wrong dimensions means awkward cropping or soft, downscaled photos. This cheat sheet lists the current recommended sizes for posts, stories, covers and profile photos across every major platform, so you can export at the right dimensions the first time.
Need to convert an image fast? The resizer below crops any photo to an exact preset and lets you download it — all in your browser, with nothing uploaded.
A few rules that hold across platforms
Most networks now standardise on a 1080-pixel width, so exporting at 1080×1350 (portrait), 1080×1080 (square) or 1080×1920 (vertical) covers the majority of feed and Story placements. Portrait 4:5 generally earns the most engagement because it occupies more of a phone screen, while 1200×630 remains the dependable size for link previews and Open Graph images.
Whatever the size, keep faces, logos and text within the centre safe zone. Feeds, grids, thumbnails and notifications can each crop the same upload differently, and anything near the edges is the first thing to get cut.
