How to Schedule X Posts: Native and Multi-Platform Methods

To schedule an X post natively, open X in a desktop browser, write the post, select the calendar icon, choose a date and time, confirm it, and select Schedule. Use a multi-platform scheduler when the same idea also needs to go to LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, Threads, or another network.

The practical difference is scope. X's native scheduler is enough for one account and costs nothing extra. A scheduler keeps several account queues together, but the limits still matter. In Donivo, X connections require a paid plan and the current composer schedules individual X posts, not complete reply-chain threads.

Schedule an X post natively on the web

X documents scheduling in its web composer. The current X Help instructions place the calendar control at the bottom of that composer.

1. Open the X web composer. Sign in to X in a desktop browser and select Post to open the composer.
2. Prepare the post. Write the post and add supported media, keeping a standard post within 280 characters.
3. Open the scheduling control. Select the calendar icon at the bottom of the web composer.
4. Choose the date and time. Choose the publication date and time, check the timezone, and select Confirm.
5. Schedule and verify. Select Schedule, then open Unsent posts and review the item in the Scheduled tab.

X says a standard post can contain up to 280 characters and up to four media items. Premium longer-post limits are a separate feature, so do not assume a scheduler supports them unless its own composer says so.

Can you schedule X posts on mobile?

X's current Help Center page lists the calendar step under its web instructions. The iOS and Android steps on that page do not document a scheduling control. That is more precise than promising that every app version has the same button: if you do not see it on mobile, use X in a desktop browser or a scheduler with a mobile-friendly web workflow.

Manage a scheduled post before it publishes

Open the X web composer and choose Unsent posts to reach the Scheduled tab. For accounts using the ads interface, X also documents creation and queue management in its X Business scheduling guide. Before the slot arrives, verify the account, timezone, copy, link, and media. If your interface does not offer the edit you need, remove the scheduled item and create a corrected one.

Schedule X with your other networks in Donivo

• Keep the standard post at or below 280 characters. Use the character counter before scheduling.
• Check that the media count, file size, duration, and format match the scheduler's current limits.
• Open every link and check the preview instead of assuming yesterday's draft is still current.
• Verify the date, time, and timezone, then confirm the item appears in the intended queue.
• Review the live post after publication. A successful API response does not replace a visual check.

What about scheduling an X thread?

A thread is a chain of posts connected by replies, not one long scheduled item. The native web flow verified for this guide and Donivo's current X composer both schedule individual posts; neither flow should be presented as a full thread scheduler.

You can still use the free thread splitter to divide a long idea into readable parts. Keep those parts in order, then publish them with a workflow that explicitly supports linked replies. Do not queue separate standalone posts and assume X will turn them into a thread.

Why scheduled X posts fail

• Expired connection. Reconnect X through OAuth, then retry the post.
• Copy or media outside current limits. Shorten the text or correct the attachment before trying again.
• Wrong account or timezone. Review the selected profile and local time before replacing the queue item.
• Stale content. Recheck links, claims, and context if the post has been waiting in the queue.
• No final verification. Open the live post and check media crops, links, mentions, and reply context.

Choose the method that matches the job
